嘉義市一間古董藝品店遭竊，遺失雞血石、佛像、手鐲等數件總價約40萬元藝品，當時即將晉升警務佐的洪東正，把握最後執勤時間，4小時內比對20多支監視錄影器，鎖定犯嫌車牌號碼逮人，林姓藝品店老闆感念警方積極辦案，望贈匾額表達感謝。有竊盜、毒品前科的38歲洪姓、40歲王姓男子缺錢買毒、預謀犯案，趁凌晨天色昏暗，打開沒上鎖的窗，扒走觀音、佛陀、彌勒、三彩、雞血石等，粗估市價40萬，但歹徒僅以5000元銷贓。新南派出所接獲報案，警員黃信勳立即調閱監視器，但數日分析毫無線索。當時即將晉升、調任交通隊的洪東正，利用最後執勤的4小時，鎖定竊嫌車牌號碼、上門逮人。
