一國中二年級男生，1天至少8小時掛網，原本只是遲到缺課，後來朝脆逃學，父母覺得嚴重，要停掉網路，沒想到他竟然要跳樓反制，幸該生隨著父母就醫，全家一起諮商加家族行為治療，讓他回到校園、不再「迷網」；醫師指網路成癮其實有跡可循，籲父母勿忌諱就醫，否則後果不堪設想。中國附醫精神科醫師張倍禎指出，這名學生國一幾乎有一半時間沒進校園，即使出現也多半趴桌睡覺，不和同學打交道，每天回家就開始玩電動，特迷打怪和射擊遊戲，往往到凌晨還不停歇。

所幸該生後來跟著爸媽就醫，經過一年的心理與家族治療後，他蛻變成另一個人，不但減少上網，愛上單車逍遙遊，且會主動結交朋友。張倍禎說，這8項評估的指標，包括「是否腦子裡想的全是上網」、「減少或停止上網時，是否會感到心神不寧、鬱悶或容易急躁」、「是否曾向他人說謊，隱瞞自己上網的程度」等，越多符合就要提高警覺了。(中國時報)，
