每位女性都有一個「少女時代」，屬於國發會副主委高仙桂的少女時代，令人瞠目結舌！身為財經閣員，多年來高仙桂為台灣拚經濟，戰功赫赫，但多數人卻不知道，她大學時代是叱吒運動場的田徑女傑，在大專運動會創下的女子乙組七項及跳高紀錄，歷經30多年，至今仍無人能破。「我不敢稱自己是天才運動員，但確實很愛運動，也以曾是體育人為傲！」高仙桂說，因從小個子高，小學就被拉進籃球校隊；念北一女時，因田徑隊跳高主將賽前受傷，她被教練找去當救兵，沒想到才練1個月，就拿下台北市冠軍、區中運第2名。

每位女性都有一個「少女時代」，屬於國發會副主委高仙桂的少女時代，令人瞠目結舌！身為財經閣員，多年來高仙桂為台灣拚經濟，戰功赫赫，但多數人卻不知道，她大學時代是叱吒運動場的田徑女傑，在大專運動會創下的女子乙組七項及跳高紀錄，歷經30多年，至今仍無人能破。「我不敢稱自己是天才運動員，但確實很愛運動，也以曾是體育人為傲！」高仙桂說，因從小個子高，小學就被拉進籃球校隊；念北一女時，因田徑隊跳高主將賽前受傷，她被教練找去當救兵，沒想到才練1個月，就拿下台北市冠軍、區中運第2名。

考上台大經濟系後，高仙桂的運動細胞更發揮得淋漓盡致，在大專運動會女子乙組中，連續拿下6屆跳高冠軍、5屆田徑七項冠軍，在跳高部分更是每次都破大會紀錄。連時任田徑協會理事長的紀政，都無法不注意到高仙桂的光芒，且公開肯定她是會運動又會念書學生的最佳表率。因為對高仙桂十分器重，當時紀政要帶一批國手到美國加州集訓40天，就破例要帶唯一非體育科系的高仙桂同行。高仙桂說，集訓時間在學期中，但校風開明的台大還是相當支持，有些教授甚至同意她期中考連補考都不用，讓她得以參與這次奇幻旅程。在赴美前的台北體育場集訓期間，高仙桂認識了輔大體育系的簡坤鐘，由於簡坤鐘最擅長的跳遠也是跳躍運動，與高仙桂的強項跳高異中有同，為了相互切磋，兩人愈走愈近；巧的是，簡坤鐘畢業、服完兵役後，找到的工作就是台大田徑隊教練，於是與高仙桂從情侶變師生，且有情人終成眷屬，譜下一段體壇佳話。(中國時報)，
